Also I watched Kids as a 29 year old and let’s just say it was very disturbing and unsettling. Larry Clarke is such a creep and I could just feel it through the screen. It’s still an important film imo esp for teens in that time period but it just left me feeling bleak
Oh god yeah, i'm sure if i saw it now, i'd just be like "GET THIS PERV AWAY FROM THESE CHILDREN!" When it came out, i remember thinking it was important in contrast to all the other teen movies of the era, bc they were so upbeat & didn't talk about any serious problems... but it was just SO exploitative
